MISSISSIPPI SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER

IMPACT 2022

With over 20 sites and centers located throughout the state, the Mississippi Small Business Development Center’s (SBDC) mission is to support our small business ecosystem by providing business expertise and resources that drive success.

Who we are

how we serve

Connection

Small business ownership can feel lonely. One-on-one counseling with a qualified SBDC Business Counselor offers entrepreneurs an opportunity to have their own “team.” All SBDC clients have access through their business counselor to a statewide network of business experts, resources and support.

education

Knowledge is power. We equip our entrepreneurs with education and access to resources through collaboration with the state’s research universities and community colleges. These important alliances allow us to tap into resources and offer them to the small business owners of Mississippi.

Guidance

It’s all about helping business owners make the best decisions at every stage of their business’ life cycle – from startup to expansion to succession planning. We provide access to any resource they need in order to achieve success.

Welcome!

Owning a business is THE American dream.

At Mississippi SBDC, we are fortunate to be a part of helping that dream come true for many Mississippians.

This report shares some of our efforts to help Mississippi’s entrepreneurs and business owners attain that dream and keep it alive no matter what challenges they face.

We are proud of the work we do, and the result it has on our communities and the small business ecosystem of our state.

The Voices of our clients

“If you have a new business, a growing business, or if you have a current business and you're struggling, or even if you're doing well, I honestly think you would be foolish not to reach out to a resource that's in your back corner.”

- John Peeples - Owner, Starkville Cafe

Squared Up

“My business counselor always told me 'You got time, you were built for this, you were made for this, and you're doing it.' She is my biggest cheerleader... That continued encouragement inspired me to keep pushing and to help grow other people at the same time.”

-Chris Goree - Owner, Squared Up Designs

NunoErin

We really appreciate Tony for taking the time to come visit and share his knowledge of the international shipping process with us to help us increase business worldwide. Looking forward to continuing to work with him.
